Classroom Newsletter

This Microsoft Word template, created by a class at The West School in Madison, CT, takes a unique approach to teaching students how to create a newsletter. It has a "click and change" format that gives instructions for creating each component of a newsletter while serving as a template that can be personalized with students' own stories and graphics. It is very easy to use, and the result looks professional!

Clearinghouse for Multilingual Documents

The California Department of Education promotes the Clearinghouse for Multilingual Documents (CMD), a secure database to assist local educators in both locating and uploading their own free parental notification documents translated into non-English languages. While documents will be most relevant for educators in California, the database serves as a model for other educational systems looking to expand resources in other languages.

Cody's Cuentos

Cody's Cuentos produces free podcasts of classic fairytales translated into Spanish and read by a professional storyteller. The site mascot is a friendly cartoon dog named Cody. Users have the option of subscribing to receive new podcasts when they are available.

College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)

CAMP is the College Assistance Migrant program, a unique educational program that helps students from migrant and seasonal farmworking backgrounds succceed in college. CAMP alumni run the program website.

Colorín Colorado is a bilingual web site that provides information, activities, and advice on helping children learn to read and succeed at school. Developed by the Reading Rockets project, Colorín Colorado features practical information for Spanish-speaking parents, beautiful illustrations from Caldecott Award-winning illustrator David Diaz, video clips of celebrities such as the late beloved Celia Cruz, and skill-building activities that draw upon Spanish-language songs and rhymes.
