National Coalition for Auditory Processing Disorders

The mission of the National Coalition on Auditory Processing Disorders, Inc. is to assist families and individuals affected by auditory processing disorders through education, support, and public awareness as well as promoting auditory access of information for those affected by auditory processing disorders.

National Collaboration for Youth

The NCY, a 30-year old affinity group, is a coalition of the National Assembly member organizations that have a significant interest in youth development. National Council for Teachers of English

The National Council of Teachers of English is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education. Since 1911, NCTE has provided a forum for the profession, an array of opportunities for teachers to continue their professional growth throughout their careers, and a framework for cooperation to deal with issues that affect the teaching of English.

National Council of La Raza

NCLR is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization established in 1968 to reduce poverty and discrimination and improve life opportunities for Hispanic Americans.

National Dissemination Center for Children With Disabilities

NICHCY provides information to the nation on: disabilities in children and youth; programs and services for infants, children, and youth with disabilities; IDEA, the nation's special education law; No Child Left Behind, the nation's general education law; and research-based information on effective practices for children with disabilities.

National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (NICHCY)

NICHCY is the center that provides information to the nation on: disabilities in children and youth; programs and services for infants, children, and youth with disabilities; IDEA, the nation's special education law; and research-based information on effective practices for children with disabilities. The focus is children and youth (birth to age 22). Anyone can use the free services — families, educators, administrators, journalists, students.

National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center (NECTAC)

NECTAC works to strengthen state and local service systems to ensure that children with disabilities (birth through 5 years) and their families receive and benefit from high-quality, evidence-based, culturally appropriate, and family-centered supports and services.

National Education Association

Founded in 1857 in Philadelphia and now headquartered in Washington, D.C., NEA proudly claims more than 2.5 million members who work at every level of education, from pre-school to university graduate programs. At the national level, NEA's work ranges from coordinating innovative projects to restructuring how learning takes place to fighting congressional attempts to privatize public education.

National Even Start Association

The mission of the National Even Start Association is to provide a national voice and vision for Even Start Family Literacy programs. The purpose of the Even Start Family Literacy Program is to help break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy by improving the educational opportunities for families. This is accomplished by integrating early childhood education, adult literacy and adult basic education, and parenting education into a unified literacy program. Even Start is implemented nationally through cooperative projects that build on existing community resources, creating a new range of services for children families and adults.

National Federation of Filipino American Association

National Geographic Education

This site offers a wide range of resources for teachers and students, ranging from multimedia lessons and maps to recommended children's books and National Geographic Teacher student magazines.

National Geographic Explorer (Student Magazine) - Teachers

National Geographic offers helpful links, resources, articles, guided lesson plans, templates, and PowerPoint presentations to assist teachers in the preparation of their lesson plans. Many of the resources that can be found in this site can be downloaded for free. Teachers can also subscribe to the magazine and obtain access to other interesting articles.

National Geographic describes kid-friendly steps for planting a garden.

National Geographic Photography

This site offers many intriguing photos, including a photo of the day, news photos, photo gallery, and short video clips. These can be useful for supporting content instruction, fostering dialogue with emerging English speakers, and creating writing prompts.

National Geographic School Publishing

Differentiated themed sets, reading programs, magazines, and content-based fiction materials created for ELLs and struggling readers. Strong emphasis on understanding science, social studies, and math content while improving literacy skills.
