National Summer Learning Association

The National Summer Learning Association serves as a network hub for thousands of summer learning program providers and stakeholders across the country, providing tools, resources, and expertise to improve program quality, generate support, and increase youth access and participation. The NSLA offers professional development, quality assessment and evaluation, best practices dissemination and collaboration, and strategic consulting to states, school districts, community organizations, and funders.

National Summer Learning Association

The vision of the National Summer Learning Association is for every young person to experience enriching, memorable summers. To realize that vision, their mission is to ensure that children and youth in high-poverty communities have access to quality summer learning programs by engaging in research, developing policy, and delivering professional development.

National Writing Project

The NWP is a network of sites anchored at colleges and universities and serving teachers across disciplines and at all levels, early childhood through university. The NWP provides professional development, develops resources, generates research, and acts on knowledge to improve the teaching of writing and learning in schools and communities.

National Writing Project Resources: Teaching Writing Through Poetry

The National Writing Project offers numerous lesson plans and resources for poetry-writing activities, including many ideas submitted by NWP educators.

National Youth Development Information Center

National Youth Development Information Center is a one-stop website for youth workers with interest in any and all of the following areas: funding, programming, research, policy, job and training opportunities. NYDIC also provides current news to the youth development field and has one of the largest online libraries, providing practice-related information at low-cost or no cost. NYDIC provides constant opportunities for practitioners to share knowledge and experience, enabling them to build the best practice in the field of youth development.

NBPTS English as a New Language Teacher Standards

National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has posted the English as a New Language Standards for Early and Middle Childhood and Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood. These can serve as a guide for what an accomplished ESL teacher knows and can do.

NCLR: Líderes

The National Council of La Raza's (NCLR) Líderes Initiative is a national program designed to create opportunities for Latino youth that will elevate their influence as leaders in the United States.

Nevada State Parent Information Resource Centers

The Nevada State Parent Information & Resource Center at the Education Alliance of Washoe County is a federally-funded program that helps implement successful and effective parental involvement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student academic achievement and that strengthen partnerships among parents, teachers, principals, administrators, and other school personnel in meeting the educational needs of children.
