Achieve, Inc. Resource Center for Standards

Features a searchable database of state and international academic standards in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, organized conveniently by subject, state, grade level, topic, and keyword. Allows for sophisticated searches and side-by-side comparisons of state standards.

Advocates for Justice and Education

Between the Lions

Between the Lions is an award-winning PBS children's series designed to help young children learn to read. The Web site includes games and materials from the show, including a literacy curriculum aimed at children ages 4-7.

Bridges 4 Kids

Bridges 4 Kids is a non-profit parent organization providing a comprehensive system of information and referrals for parents and professionals working with children from birth through transition to adult life. Carnegie Corporation

Carnegie Corporation of New York was created by Andrew Carnegie in 1911 to promote the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding.� Building on its history and past programs in the field, Carnegie Corporation will dedicate a major part of its grant funds over the next few years to education reform, beginning with early childhood education and extending to higher education.

The University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion, Maine's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service, is a partnership of people that brings together the resources of the community and the University to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.

Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders

Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is the nation's leading non-profit organization serving individuals with ADHD and their families. CHADD has over 16,000 members in 200 local chapters throughout the country. Chapters offer support for individuals, parents, teachers, professionals, and others.

Children's Defense Fund

The mission of the Children's Defense Fund is to Leave No Child Behind; and to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start, and a Moral Start in life and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities. CDF provides a strong, effective voice for all the children of America who cannot vote, lobby, or speak for themselves, particularly poor and minority children and those with disabilities.

Colorín Colorado

Colorín Colorado is a bilingual web site that provides information, activities, and advice on helping children learn to read and succeed at school. Developed by the Reading Rockets project, Colorín Colorado features practical information for Spanish-speaking parents, beautiful illustrations from Caldecott Award-winning illustrator David Diaz, video clips of celebrities such as the late beloved Celia Cruz, and skill-building activities that draw upon Spanish-language songs and rhymes.

Connect For Kids

Connect for Kids, an award-winning multimedia project of the Benton foundation, helps adults make their communities better places for families and children. The Web site offers a place on the Internet for adults — parents, grandparents, educators, policymakers and others — who want to become more active citizens, from volunteering to voting with kids in mind.
