Advocates for Justice and Education

AJE was formed to motivate and educate parents, and those working with parents about the laws that govern special education and related services, and the consequences of institutional negligence and/or inappropriate classification of students with special needs.

Bridges 4 Kids

Bridges 4 Kids is a non-profit parent organization providing a comprehensive system of information and referrals for parents and professionals working with children from birth through transition to adult life. The organization provides a circle of support for ALL children, with a special focus on those who have disabilities, special needs, or who are at-risk.

Colleges with Programs for Learning Disabled Students

This page is designed to offer college bound students, parents, and counselors easy access to information about colleges and universities that offer programs, some quite comprehensive, designed to support students with learning disabilities.

Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates

COPAA is an independent, nonprofit organization of attorneys, advocates and parents established to improve the quality and quantity of legal assistance for parents of children with disabilities

Developmental Delay Resources

DDR is dedicated to meeting the needs of those working with children who have developmental delays in sensory motor, language, social, and emotional areas. It publicizes research on identifiable factors that would put a child at risk and maintains a registry that tracks new trends. DDR also provides parents and professionals with a network of support and current information after a diagnosis.

Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund

The Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund, Inc., (DREDF) is one of the leading national law and policy center in disability civil rights. DREDF was founded in 1979 by a unique alliance of adults with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities.

Education-A-Must

Education-A-Must Inc. has been in existence and servicing the communities needs since 1996. They began by helping one child and have grown to over 500 to date.

Etta Israel Center

Founded in 1992, the Etta Israel Center (EIC) is a non-profit, community-based organization committed to raising awareness and sensibility towards people with special needs.

Federation for Children with Special Needs

The Federation is a center for parents and parent organizations to work together on behalf of children with special needs and their families.

Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health

Provides information, support, and referrals through federation chapters throughout the country. Focuses on the needs of children with broad mental health problems

Mid-Atlantic DBTAC

We provide training, information, and technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessible information technology (IT) to businesses, consumers, schools, and government agencies within the Mid-Atlantic Region (PA, DE, MD, VA, WV, and DC).

National Center for Fair & Open Testing

The National Center for Fair & Open Testing (FairTest) is an advocacy organization working to end the abuses, misuses and flaws of standardized testing and ensure that evaluation of students and workers is fair, open, and educationally sound.

National Center for Latinos with Disabilities

National Center for Latinos with Disabilities is the only not-for-profit statewide organization focusing solely on the empowerment of Latinos with disabilities and their families. NCLD works toward the equal participation of this population in all aspects of society in an independent, productive, and meaningful manner — through unique linguistically and culturally appropriate advocacy, training, information and referral programs.

National Center for Learning Disabilities

The mission of the National Center for Learning Disabilities is to increase opportunities for all individuals with learning disabilities to achieve their potential. NCLD accomplishes its mission by increasing public awareness and understanding of learning disabilities, conducting educational programs and services that promote research-based knowledge, and providing national leadership in shaping public policy.

National Center on Educational Outcomes, University of Minnesota

Provides national leadership in the participation of students with disabilities and limited English proficient (LEP) students in national and state assessments, standards-setting efforts, and graduation requirements.

National Disability Rights Network

Provides literature on legal issues and referrals to federally-mandated programs that advocate for the rights of people with disabilities.

Northwest ADA/IT Center

Working together with designated state affiliates and partners in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, NWADA provides technical assistance, training, and dissemination of information regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act and accessible education-based information technology.

Pacific DBTAC

The purpose of the Pacific ADA & IT Center (Pacific DBTAC) is to build a partnership between the disability and business communities and to promote full and unrestricted participation in society for persons with disabilities through education and technical assistance.

Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center

The Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center assists the families of children with disabilities through education, information and training. PEATC builds parent-professional partnerships to promote success in school and community life.

PEAK Parent Center

PEAK Parent Center provides training, information, and technical assistance to equip parents with strategies to advocate successfully for their children with disabilities. Some information is available in Spanish.
