:-) Not that dumb...
but realize that it's not like a disease with a bacteria causing it; it's more complicated than that. Different people have different definitions.

Mel Levine's book "Educational Care" does an *excellent* job of describing a whole lot of different kinds of learning disabilities & just problems people have learning different kinds of things. That would be where I would start... and definitely from a library, it's an EXPENSIVE book :-)

Some books I like...

Learning Outside the Lines by Mooney and Cole - GREAT ONE, 2 LD students who transferred to Brown University and graduated at the top share their own life stories and tips they've learned along the way

In the Mind's Eye: Visual Thinkers, Gifted People with Dyslexia and other Learning Difficulties and the Ironies of Creativity
by Dr. Thomas G. West

"The only thing I know to do is just keep fighting, keep working. If there's any way I can help this team, I will. And if it doesn't happen, well, it won't be from a lack of effort or lack of trying." - Yankees pitcher Kevin Brown
