Adderall XR and stomach aches/vomiting

Hi,

My son takes Adderall XR, 8yrs/10mg. Every now and then he gets a stomach ache- and at times vomits. This only happens at school. I've had him take it on the weekends just to see if would happen-no.

Is anyone experiencing this? He does eat the school food. I have noticed that he must eat a large amount of protein with the med. Today he ate Cream of Wheat instead of his usual eggs & toast. After lunch (he ate pizza) I get a call from the nurse.

He needs the meds-make no mistake about it; however does anyone have any suggestions about this?

Are you sure it is the medication? Could it be the fat in the school food? I got sick and vomited several times in college from eating dorm food. It stopped when I started patting all the food down with napkins before eating it.

I hadn't thought about the fat issue. We do eat a pretty low-fat diet at home
