Subject: Re: Any SLPs or language experts? I need some input, pleas
Hi Pattim,
Thank you for replying!! All of the tests that I gave scores for are the only ones on the written report that she gave me. She reports average scores with expressive and receptive vocabulary skills. She said that MJ's total test score on the OWLS (6 yr, 11 mo) indicated a MILD language delay. Expressive errors included having difficulty with asking questions appropriately, using irregular past tense verbs and using passive voice correctly.
The SLP's overall impression was that she demonstrated a severe articulation, moderate expressive language and moderately abnormal perceptual skills as measured on the TAPS-R. She recommended therapy 1x/week. What other information can I give you? The report wasn't very detailed but let me know if I'm leaving something out that might help.
This is a private evaluation that I had done. I am not sure how to approach the school for an assessment or if I even need one now that I have had an evaluation done, but simply how to get them to accept the eval and write an IEP for it.
Oh, one more piece of information, she has moderate central hearing loss. Odd case--very strong LEA on all dichotic listening tests.
Thank you again!!
