Subject: Best home-based program

I live in a rural community that does not offer any type of program for any LDs. To my knowledge, our local public school does not have any of the programs that I have been reading about in the forum. What would be the best home program available for a 11 yr old boy with low audio processing? His visual processing is above average. We need something to help long term memory, segmenting, blending. I really need to keep the cost under $500.00.

Any suggestions?

You might consider the Barton System for reading. It is designed specifically for parents to use in working with their own children.

You can contact Susan Barton and she should be able to tell you which level would work best for you to begin with.
