Subject: How service Bilingual students in Special Education?
At my school, we have ESL teachers that provide bilingual services pull-out and they have paras that speak both English and Spanish. There are also teachers that teach his/her literacy in the regular education classroom in Spanish. Additionally, the Special Education staff, teachers and paras do not speak Spanish.
There is a Special Education student that receives literacy in bilingual. However, he has behaviors too. It was brought up that he should receive Special Education support in the literacy time he has in the regular education classroom but he is taught in Spanish. I am wondering if anyone has recommendations on how to provide support, how their schools provide support, or any ideas of where addition information can be located.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Maybe have the special ed teacher work with his ESL support system. They can come up with a plan to support him in both areas.
It would also be a good idea to get an FBA done to see what is causing the behaviors. Is it an LD issue or is it just frustration because of the language problems?
