Subject: new here ..question

My daughter is in the 8th grade . she is in her first year at a very high level academic private school.
she has always been a straight A student at public school, in fact top in her class.
her reading level was very high but... she always had a hard time spelling(she is a very bad speller) .. also she sometimes says words a little differently than others. The spelling issue was fine once she reached middle school and could use spell check . But now she is in this high powered academic environment and she is having a hard time with Spanish and Latin and English and grammar.
They are thinking that she may have a learning disability and are going to test her(which I am fine with) my question is what kind of learning disability could this be ? actually her brother is dyslexic..
any insight into this would be appreciated.

There are a number of LDs which can effect spelling. Dyslexia, Auditory Processing, Executive Function, Language disorders. Testing should give you more information on what is going on.
