Paladin Academy Weston FL

We have recently learned that DH's company will be relocating to the Fort Lauderdale area. He will have the option to remain here in NY or move along with the company.

We are interested in enrolling our son in a private school for kids with language based LDs. He is dyslexic and has ADHD. A school like this would cost a small fortune in the area we live. BUT, it is a possibility if we relocate. In my web searching, I stumbled across Paladin Academy in Broward county FL. This school is part of the Nobel Learning Community.

I am wondering if anyone on this forum has any knowledge about this school? I have actually spoke with the principal who seems like a nice enough woman. She certainly asked good questions. Since speaking with her, we have officially received the dyslexia diagnosis through a very comprehensive neuro psych evaluation. I will likely call her again, now that I know better questions to ask. Before doing so, I was curious to hear some feedback.

I live in this area. I am not familiar with this school--in fact, did not know it existed, but have looked at LD schools in the area. The one I liked best is American Academy at American Heritage School in Plantation--which is about 10 minutes from where you are talking about. I tried copying the link but am not quite so talented.

My son ended up not attending--we decided to have him repeat a grade and attend the parochial school his siblings were at. But if we had gone this way, this is where we would have sent him.

The public schools here are very little help, compared to NY where I think you live now. We have done everything privately. I am familiar with many resources here, if you have any questions or need more informaiton.

Thank you Beth. I am going to do some research on the school you mentioned. It is great to know that there are options for private schools, because honestly...we are not even considering sending either of our kids to public school if we make the move to FL.
