Subject: Hello from New Zealand Newbie Mum

Just a quick intro, pleased to have found this web site and hope to meet some like minded people going through the same stuff.

I'm married with 3 Sons aged 10, 9 and 6 years old. Between the 3 of them I think we cover most areas, plus food allergies. My earliest son has been our tester for all of the teachers, programmes and doctors. It's amazing he hasn't given up on us - I don't know how many times I say this will be the last lot of tests. And yet again I'm tossing up between 2 programmes Dore and The Learning Breakthrough. I've read all the web sites on these programme and feel the Learning Breakthrough will be the winner. If you have any thoughts I love to hear them. Will chat soon!

ADD, Dyslexic x 3 sons aged 10, 9 and 6 years old. School life is extremely stressful for the boys and parents. We are always double checking ourselves to make sure we are doing everything we can do to make our boys have a great childhood.

Hi Jaykoy,
You have picked the right winner, with LearningBreakThrough. Which is what Dore is based on.
LBT is very much cheaper, and comes in a single package. Where you could use the one package with all of your sons.
So I would recommend LBT.

Hi geodob,
Thanks for the posting, did you buy from the International Site or is their a supplier in Australia? Have you finished with the programme or still doing it? Thanks in advance!

Just so you understand, "scientific" testing on children is cruelty. Making promises to them about the last time and yet it NEVER ends is called LIEING. It is a form of child abuse in my opinion. I am an adult who was a child with LD. I was put through the testing every 4 to 6 months every year for science, I was told at about 8 i went through it all, so no other child would have to in the future. Over 20 years later, closer to 25 years later, NOTHING has changed for LD kids. You parents and doctors don't seem to get we are HUMAN BEINGS not guinnea pigs. Get it?! WE ARE NOT GUINNEA PIGS!!! If you aren't certain test it out first do the research yourself but if you aren't certain it will work, don't put your kid through another disheartening thing. Life with LD ina society full of insane phobias and predjudice people is bad enough. And so is just being labled in such a society. Parents like you make me VERY angry. You make me think of a song... By Tarja. I will quote part of it for you. The question is, as a dyslexic, should i quote it to you in english polish finnish swedish norwegian ancient egyptian hieroglyphs irish gaelic korean spanish german... Dyslexic and quite fluent in a whole host of languages. My parents were told that wasn't possible. I am so sick opf these fools running around in their white coats with no organic proof of something being wrong trying to force feed children pills and run "tests" on them. Some do need a different methodology to learn better, but that doesn't make us lab experiments. Please, recognize that and stop lieing to your child. Because you WILL raise a very jaded adult who will want nothing to do with yiou. I had parents just like you. I got married and i moved to Vienna austria from Boston. I moved to Canada, I have lived now all over the world just because i can't look at my family after what they did to me in the name of LD. The only thing they taught me is how to hate them and the profession of LD research. I have nevewr found anything helpful or useful that comes from all this research and missuse of children. So you can listen to your fools in the white coats or you can listen to a human who has been there.

Go back to sleep forevermore
Far from your fools and lock the door
They’re all around and they’ll make sure
You don’t have to see
What I turned out to be
No one can help you

I walk alone
Every step I take
I walk alone
My winter storm
Holding me awake
It’s never gone
When I walk alone

Waiting up in heaven
I was never far from you
Spinning down I felt your every move

I walk alone
Every step I take
I walk alone
My winter storm
Holding me awake
It's never gone

To have LD is to be alone. Either you can walk beside someone with LD, as an honest and truthful parent and try to shelter or you can be a part of the busted establishment that lets us down. Even if we never give up on learning, it doesn', mean that eventually we create a shelter for ourselves in our aloneness. A shelter designed to even keep you out. And your dishonesties. "Oh this one might help this is the last one..." We are alone. The only way to understand us is to *BE* us. And since no oine can, runni9ng these tests is an abuse and a ctruelty testing things on us is a vile vile act and you should be ashamed. But ofcourse, your children could wind up like me. Globe trotting just to not have to look at you. So you don't have to see what they turned out to be. Is it worth it to you?

Oh and just to be clear, my husband works with some of the most famous scientists in the world. He is a brilliant PHD in physics. But how many ideas of his start out as ideas or theories of mine that he just turns into math? Alot of them. He compares my thought processes to those of Einstein and the IQ tests seem to agree with him. Only i don't. My husband, has a great deal of respect for how my mind works as a genius himself he recognizes intelligence. Sometimes small minds simply can not comprehend the workings of a more gifted mind. So they declare it defective. Because you see even a gifted mind has to struggle with things too... Often things harder to get around than is average. And if you all can't see that, if you all can't see that nearly every famouse brilliant genius from Da Vinci to the Right brothers to Agatha Christie to Simon on american Idol is LD, then maybe you all haven't learned much from history. Would seem learning disabled to me, to not learn from history, but then i am an archaeologist. How far would society get without minds like ours? Right, you all would still be gatherers and poachers of the kills of larger animals living in caves eating your food raw with no cave art on the walls, hobnobbing with litteral neanderthals. Thank your lucky stars don't penalize and torture your kids for their differences. And don't ever lie to them. No one respects or accepts lies for long. And a day willc ome when those kids don't need your roof or the food you can provide to them enough to stay with you. They will not honor you by caring for you when you are old. They will not send you wedding invitations. They will not let you near their children when they have them. because the most key and fundimental basis of all things is TRUST. And you, have violated theirs. Because you want to help, i know. But how can they use your help anymore than jews who were in the camps can use blood money? They can't. Unless the most fundimental TRUST remains intact. And i think for you it might already be too late. But, children are resilient and yours are still young. I hope you can fix this before they grow up. The road to helvete is paved with good intentions... So is the road to ruining the relationship with the LDed.... Paved with the best of intentions... Kids grow up. What will you do when your children really don't want you in their lives because of the trust you broke when they were children? Oh i hope that doesn't happen to you. But... When it does, you better understand that you brought it on yourself.

Hi Jaykoy,
I haven't used it personally, though I have recommended it to quite a few people. Who have all found it to be helpful.
Where it helps develop better communication between the left and right sides of the brain.
As well as what is called our Vestibular balance.
But in regard to an Australian or NZ supplier?
It would be worth emailing them, and asking if they now have a supplier down here? As the postage is quite expensive from the US.
