Subject: Considering Homeschooling, any thoughts?
Hi my name is Bob and my wife and I are seriously
considering to start homeschooling our children in the near future. I'm looking to exchange information and/or
ideas/methods with experienced parents.
Also, What can anybody recommend as far as curriculum is concerned? Maybe I'm jumping the gun? I'm really new to this. any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Bob, their are a great number of forums for parents homeschooling their children, which I'm sure that you'll find really helpful. Where you can discuss all of the issues related to homeschooling and also discuss learning programs and materials.
Their are national networks, and also state networks, and you might also find one setup in your city/town?
You could do a google search, and type in homeschooling and the name of your state, and another one with your town/ city.

Hi ~ I'm all for homeschooling!! As the previous poster said, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of groups on-line for homeschooling, some general ones, some related to specific curriculums or programs. I would recommend Sunlight, which is a comprehensive, literature-based program that covers everything (there is a Yahoo group on it, I believe), Math-u-See, which I have personally used with my students and love - it is a homeschooling program - www.mathusee.com - there's also a Yahoo group for that, and ABeCeDarian for decoding/spelling skills (www.abcdrp). I use that with my students and have seen excellent results. There is also a Yahoo group for that. Depending on how old your children are Apologia has excellent science materials, and while it's not a homeschool curriculum, Rosetta Stone has excellent materials for teaching foreign languages.
Good Luck!
