Davis Method - The Gift of Learning

I just read "The Gift of Learning" by Ronald Davis and realized how it related to my adult son. My son said he has always thought in pictures. He has a university degree but is unable to work due his LD and difficulty with math.
Have any adults in this form used the Davis method to improve reading or math. If so, I would really appreciate your opinion on this method.
