Subject: Phonographix

I am interested in hearing all expereinces with phonographix I am considering the intesive program for one week. My son is 10 and has phonological awareness problem and I thought this might help! Any comments are welcome.

It is a good program but WAY overhyped.

So if it works great but PLEASE don't come back saying it's teh ANSWER TO ALL OUR PRAYERS because we have heard that before and it isn't.

It's just a good program for lots of kids. I really hope it is for yours!!!

I agree with Brenda that PG is a good program. I don't know about over-hyped.... It works great with kids who are creative and logical in their thinking. Based on Orton-Gillingham principles, multi-sensory in technique, it is solid. Tthe kids I have worked with using PG have been happy with it and have learned to read. I really can't praise it enough.

Lisa,

Did you try Phonographix? I have never heard of it. My daughter has had about 2 yrs of Orton-Gillingham training and I am looking for something to help with the phonological awareness problem. From the Orton tutor, I am getting, the impression that O-G will not improve phonological awareness problems.
