I found it very interesting to have a professional admit that many teachers are taught in college that parents are to be avoided.
It seems the military base schools have some good ideas and if the reporting was accurate prove parent involvement does work.
After experiencing being treated like parents should only go to school on parent day or for field trips it would be great to experience a setting that welcomes parents.
Most of us are not teachers but that does not mean that we could not help in class or even add to class.
