i think that cubs is great. my boy went in it last year and loved it. what a way to forget the day at school and have fun with all the guys!!!

we are also involved in taekwondo with a family club that does not focus on the aggression aspects that some do. we learn patterns, routines and different kicks. the instructors are awesome at working with each student as an individual. need to shop around to find the right program.

i am also not in favour of a segregated program. they need role models and the chance to develop skills to cope in the real world.

Mamm:

Why do you not feel LD adults could be role models for an LD kid ? I mean look at some examples the supposed "normal role models". Role models such as Father Paul Shanley or Cardinal Law of the Catholic church ? I think one has to have a bit of LD Pride here.... Benito Mussolini is right ! A group for LD youth would be just what many of these kids need to bring up self esteem. The LD adults know what is out there, they have been in the trenches of the struggle. I for one live with LD all day 24 hours. It would be nice to get acceptance from the world at large, but I am seeking out other LD people to change the world for us. If there were any problems, we did not cause it. It is government, DVR, or society's unwillingness to change their view of LD. So let's change it for them. Is your message on this board the right one to send to your LD kids ? That LD people cannot be role models for the real world ?
