Subject: PT studies
My daughter is currently attending nursing school. After her first year it became necessary for her to attend PT. With the change, she now has become ineligible for our health insurance. Does anyone know if because of her LD can she maintain coverage as a part-time student? I have heard of some colleges that will provide a letter stating LD must take a smaller course load. This letter has helped to maintain parents health benefits. Anyone with experience with this? Any help would be appreciated

I worked for many years with disabled students at a college in Chicago. We OFTEN would write letters for students who we felt needed to take a reduced load. Call the Office for Disabled Students at her college and request a letter from them. Good luck to you.

Friend of mine had reduced course load as an accommodation -- she could live in the dorm, keep insurance, get all the other bennies of being full-time.
