Subject: Feeling like I want justice

<HTML>Folks:

Have you ever been hurt by someone really bad ? Like when you were little in school or on a sports team and the people who were to protect you authority figures did nothing or secretly encouraged harrassment ? Well sometimes I feel like the Mossad and Adolf Eichmann (NAZI )situation. I wish the tormentors would face justice in the docket. They must not live scot-free to old age without being accountable. I am talking about if they physically assaulted you or sexually harrassed you or comitted a hate crime against you because you were LD or ADD. Teachers who put derogatory misleading info in a record that later scarred you for adult life. Anyway, anyone want to sound off on this topic feel free to. I am ticked off.</HTML>

I felt that way when I was in my tweens and teens and twenties. I'm past forty now, and things look different from this side of the hill. Yes, seriously bad things have happened to me which I did not deserve and which I do not feel like discussing here. Majorly good things have happened to me also, which I have deserved as little. The way I figure it is this. (1) We are immortal souls destined for eternity, so ANY life-time, no matter how crummy is comparable to a bad day in Kindergarten in the life of a man. Yes, it hurts at the time. Yes, it is horrible. Yes it is unfair, But, no, in the long run it is simply NOT that important. (2) In the fullness of time, we undoubtedly will have an opportunity to sit down with our erstwhile tormenters and discuss what was done and left undone in the light of God's truth. The lies and omissions and coverups will be exposed. Not incidentally, people whom we doubtless have long since forgotten, but who have a grievance with us will have that same opportunity. You want to hash it all out in extreme detail? That could take an eternity! ('Course, you got eternity to spend.) Still, it sounds like hell to me, especially with the rest of your life just waiting to lived. There is some wisdom in cutting to the chase with that adage of all experienced parents; "Both of you kiss each other and say you are sorry, and after that you may go and play."</HTML>

<HTML>To whome it may concern

I Feel like I want justice to! Trough out my life I have been tourcherd by peoples lack of understanding about certin issues. I am 23 years old and I have a learning disability. I am curintly going to an adult education school in St.John's Newfoundland and I am proud to say that I have obtained 22 credits, all straight A's. This all sounds good but, in my first atempt at school I was pleaced in special ed in grade two. I stayed there until grade 8. After that I was placed in a work expreience program for my high school education, if you could call it an education at all. I was put there even though I was only 14 and you needed to be 15 in order to go to work. Also, I am a person with a highger then averidge IQ but these programs were ment for slow learners, which I am not. The 22 credits that I have I acheved them in less then 12 months. Bottom line I should not have been in special ed. So now I am trying to straiten out my life that was taken from me by the lack of peoples understanding. If they could only see it from my point of vuie. even you who are reading this letter right now will undoughtitly see my spelling mistakes and you will probibly think that this makes me less intelegent. But I am going to continue to let people walk all over me. I am fighting back and giving them hell. I am proving to them that I had what it takes all along.</HTML>

<HTML>I also want justice ! People who have sufered because of ADD/LD: they need justice ! Harrassment, discrimination etc. those are serious things ! However, it does not mean LD or ADD people do not have less of a right to complain. The people educators, peers, employers... They hurt us sticking stuff in our files, looking the other way when we are discriminated against. Saying: oh you can have accomodations but here are fifty some forms to fill out and a diagnosis at $600.00 to prove you are LD. The peers in school. The parents who complain to the teacher. Oh... Jerry the SPED is going to slow my kid down... can you par him with another partner.. Why are LD or ADD folks always fair game for discrimination ? I would not mind if someone was to pull an Mossad vs Eichmann on our tormentors. (Drag them to a special tribunal for trial on being part of a conspiricy to deprive ADD people of our right to live a life free of state sponsored harrassment or put this stuff as a hate crime). I hope we can use the International Human Rights/War Crimes Court in Holland against public officials in the U.S. who deprive us of our human rights and put on an international watch list for detention. What do you think people.</HTML>

<HTML>It's like a rape of the soul. Prejudice and discriminaton are color blind. I look at life this way: Most people really suck. Altruism is rarer than rocking horse poop. Ignorance is the rule not the exception. Most people are incapable of making mental leaps. The human race will make itself extinct. Religion is like a computer virus. The God that humans have created is a liar and a coward.

I believe that in the universe that there are beings more advanced than we are but they don't make contact because we are not worth it. Our collective beliefs created this sadistic god that didn't have the guts to to take his son's place on the cross. Our stupid blind faith has allowed this evil to run wild in the form of priests who have been allowed to molest children with impunity.

SO WITH ALL THAT SAID: Why would anyone ever expect to be treated with the proper amount of respect when most people's heads are so completely and firmly inserted in thier butts? I'd like to see every religious institution on the face of this planet bombed to rubble. I'd like to see the likes of the Pope, Jimmy Swaggert, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakan tarred and feathered. Most of all I'd like the see all evil gods ignored that way the will die. They need us. We don't need them. Send Allah & Jehovah in to oblivion along with Zarthrustra, Apollo and Zeuse.</HTML>

That's sage advice, Shirin, and with any luck it will help me get over the intense pain I've felt over the last year... ever since a co-worker looked me in the eye and told me there is something wrong with my brain.

I'm going through some harassment and abuse right now at work. Its like you mention to your boss, that you have LD, and its like they think you are stupid. Oh I had my fair share of harassments, and taunts and kids making fun of me since Kindergarden. I do think that they should get something back in return for what they did to me, and I feel terrible when they do it to others with any type of disability. Just because we have LD doesnt make us stupid at all. I'm 28 years old, and I have no friends at all.

I am all for those who help themselves in the proper way. Everyone, whether they have a handicap, disability, or are able bodied, needs to treat the citizens of the world decently. I have seen people who are in wheelchairs, and people who are deaf, being rude and arrogant.

-----

Often, we (those with LD) have to be "clever", get information reinforced by written as well as verbal instructions, write notes to ourselves.
Sometimes, we have to add extra steps to a task, to get it done the right way. Sometimes we have to do a step differently, yet it comes out OK.

---

We have to remember so much, and cope with different people, and it can be tough.

-----

Hang in there.
