Neat. There’s also a separate new adults with ADHD board here at ldonline.

Here’s a couple of more of adults with ADHD resources:

Pamela, have you gotten a neuro psych evaluation? Have you had any cognitive rehab. Has you state voc rehab denied you testing or cognitive rehab? Have you seen a neuro-psychologist? How long since your accident? I would suggest bring an advoctae with you to Voc rehab meetings. Don’t let them BS you and if they make a promise get it in writing. Chances are you gotta play hardball with voc rehab. These people are not real swift or too kind. Make sure your advocate is a friend or family member don’t use their client assistance program. Those people are two-faced backstabbers. Bring a tape recorder to your meetings. That way they can’t weasel their way out of previous commitments they made to you. If they freak cause you have a tape recorder tell em you need it cause you have memory deficets. If they say they won’t talk to you if you use a tape recorder, sue them for discrimination. Call the ACLU see what they tell you.

I have had a neuropsyche in Jan which was dismal. It only stated what I can’t do and discouraged me attending college for retraining in another area. I don’t how to get an advocate, my father died suddenly in Oct 2001 and the family fell apart. I’m standing alone with my recovery. The car accident was in May of 2000. Any suggestions?

your local ld association should be able to help with an advocate, check with different resources like local adhd association(chadd possibly), mr association, mental health resources, try all of them. There may be a group for folks with head injury too, I am in Germany with no stateside ph book or I would try to look them up myself and see what all there is. Best wishes.
