advice: effective cognitive training software for home use?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I’m a junior year student at University of Colorado. I was just diagnosed with inattentive add last year. I also have some memory difficulties, my weaknesses most specifically lie in the visual-spatial department and sequential learning. I’ve done some iq testing and my results are above average but I have near a 20 point split between visual and verbal iq on the Westler III test. I am looking for some cognitive training computer software that I could use at home to help with my areas of difficulty. I am thinking of getting “Test and Improve your Memory” by Tri Synergy, but I can’t find any studies on it’s effectiveness or the effectiveness of any specific software program in general. Thanks for any help.
