anyone have related therapy?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hi. Just wondering if any of you receive other therapy like physical, occupational, cognitive, speech? If so, who pays for it? (insurance, you)?

If you are refering to the public school system, to receive related services, your child needs to quality for special ed or have a 504 plan in place. The parents and/or teacher can request an evaluation from OT, PT or adaptive PE. Based on the results of the eval. and the IEP team discussion a child may or may not receive related services.
If you are an adult some insurance companies pay for therapy. However, you need to check with the insurance company. There are many good private therapists, not connected with big clinics or hospitals that charge a reasonable fee- no overhead.
