executive function disorder - coping with

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

HI -

does anyone have any tips on ways to cope with executive function disorder?

this can manifest in time management issues (e.g. thinking something will take only 30 minutes, when 1 hour or more is more realistic), ordering tasks (e.g. what to do first, second, etc in order to complete a task).

thanks,

Irene

On time management any form of structure is helpfull for my son in middle school where each day had 7 periods and there were six different sheaduals that rotated making each day different than the one before, with the following week starting with a new scheadule. We used a programable Timex watch that we programed in the next two weeks of class scheaduals. this took a lot of out side administration but a program like microsoft scheadule plus was helpfull. How to self actuate and setup your own scheadule has to become a routeen of some type with a reminder to key you to action
