I cannot find a doctor in my area with AADD expertise that accepts my form of insurance which is Medicare/MediCal> I am even willing to do somesort of sliding scale. Help!! Anyone have ANY referrals? I have ben searching on and off for at least one year since my last doctor retired. His references don’t take my insurance either! Oh I live in San Francisco.

Andy, I’m also from SF and involved in the CHADD group here. I’ve been wondering how this all works out for people on MediCal, because its my understanding that when you have MediCal you must use the psychitrist assigned to you by Mental Health Access. I have Medicare only and see a psychiatrist, John Kruse, who “accepts Medicare assignment” for my medications. I wonder if he is on the Mental Health Access list and you can work something out with them to be assigned to him since most doctors on their list are not going to evaluate or treat adult ADD.
