Hello. I am a speech pathologist and I have a student that has a hearing loss and is in Kindergarten. She is aided and with both aids, she has normal hearing. She is having trouble with rhyming and blending sounds into words. I’m told from our AI guru that since we know she is at normal hearing, this is more of a skill issue versus hearing issue. I’m on the fence bc after reading up on hearing loss and development, this may be more of just a skill issues. Nevertheless, I need help on what kind of strategies to give the teacher to help this child learn rhyming and blending. We are using lots of visuals.
