Question about ADHD and adrenaline ???

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I have ADHD and it appears that i have alot of adrenaline , hyperness , overactive sympathetic nervous system , fast digestion and sensitivity to anything that raises just my norepi , epi levels .. It seems that unmedicated everything about me is in fast mode ..
Now what is hard for me to understand is , Since dopamine is the percursor to norepi and adrenaline.. ADHD is characterised by not having enough dopamine in certin brain areas , which seems to be true because ADDERALL helps me a great deal .. how is it that unmedicated it seems that i have alot of adrenaline when i am in short supply of dopamine ??
Caffine makes me jittery as do any thing that raises adrenaline only, so i would assume stimulants would not help me at all , but to my great suprise they do help enormously and i do not get jittery in the slightest . i feel calm and even .. This question has stumped me for a long time ..Anyone out there know ??? Can you please let me know ..

hello laura, you are not alone, i have the same type of symptoms. I was told by my doctor that i should not consume any type of caffine, and even choclate, due to it slows down the affects of the medication.

this is what my doctor told me, i hope it helps
