I experianced the same problems as you, strattera made me really groggy to the point of almost having narcolepsy, I would suddenly wake up and realize that I had been sleeping sitting up in a chair for 30 min

Me too! Straterra, made me SUPER groggy…it was like 12:00 in the afternoon and I couldn’t even stay awake! maybe I didn’t give it a chance, but damm, I can’t funtion walking around like a zombie in the afternoon. It was amazing. I only tried it for maybe 3 weeks, but I just couldn’t take it anymore and stopped. Other opinion????

I’m pretty new to this, but found the same thing when went to he 80 mg dose as recommended. I’ve found that with lower doses, I don’ t get the same results, actually sometimes get a little distant spacy but other than that fine. I’ve been taking 58 mg this week (using up some samples) going to 60 next change. Other trouble is I can’t really tell if it’s working, is there a big difference when I find something that works? I do find less distractions get in when I’m reading or such but other than that……

I was diagnosed in Jan. I am a 19 yr. old Female, trying to get good grades in college, I went to my dr. she put me on this shit! i took myself off it because i knew it wasn’t working. waisted 4 months on it, took 4 more months to get a new doctor. Now am on Ritlian and it’s working beautifully i can concentrate soooo much better. I think that S is a big hoax because people don’t like the idea of puting there kids or themselves on stimulants we’ll i think that with ADD or ADHD you need a stimulant to concentrate

I am currently taking Strattera.
I was given a prescription to take 40mg at night then another 40mg at night. It messed up my moods. This high dosage made me bratty to everyone, get depressed then a few minutes later have emtional highs of being happy. It was messing me up and it was awful.
I know its not good to do but I have reduced my dosage, without telling my doc, to taking just 40mg in the morning. It seems to help me with the focusing and being able to pay attention to people speaking.
Due to this drug only being approved by the FDA this past April, I still feel more studies are needed and they need to find out what the longterm effects are taking this drug.

My daugher’s neuro-psych told me that the ups and downs that you described was completely “normal” when you first start out on the drug. They persist for the first six weeks to 30 days. However, my daughter tried 40 mg, timed released and started falling asleep. Now she takes 18 mg timed release, 2x a day and it works much better for her. My 15 year old behaved like something let out of a cage for the first 30 days—it was bad—really bad. It does seem to help with her ability to listen and think things through first.
