Some days I hate having LD

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I have been LD all of my life, and most of the time I don’t mind it, but when a college professor gives me 3 chapters to read the first day and another says I have to read a book and compare it to another, and the syllabus lists so many assignments, I hate it. It takes me so much longer to read than my more typical classmates and I am working while taking these 2 classes. Sigh….

Just break-it down, a bit a few days. Sometimes I make an outline of a chapter (my own version) taken from the headings of the chapter. Best of luck. /signed/ Joe.

That is a ridiculous ammount of reading.

I have LD and I have had to be resourceful. If I were you I would cheat of your tests especially if it a BS course that has nothing to do with your major.

I would not cheat even if it was not in my major! To do so would be wrong and dilute my accomplishment in that class and put in to question all I have done before. I do well in school now, because I work hard and had all that help earlier from my special ed teachers and my mom. I also know when to switch teachers if I cannot learn from a particular teacher.
