Tips for navigating city mass transit when you have LD

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Anyone out there ever try techniques when you are in a unfamiliar city trying to get around town ? Specifically, if you have trouble with sense of direction. Riding subways New York city, or trying to drive using written directions ? Anyone who has some tips on this, I would appreciate comments. Thanks.

How do you tell which train goes where from looking at the subway map ? Like if I want to go from Penn Station to Tremount Ave in Bronx. How do I ensure I get on a train that is going to stop at the station. Any ideas ? Thanks.

In NYc call 330-1234 and you can ask an MTA information person how to verbally teel you the steps to get to where you want to go from the subway station claoset to your house to your destination. If you run into nay problems as I have in terms of not gettign throw then just reverse the numbers and dial 3304321 the President’s office of the MTA and tell them how you can not get through and you have a LD and you need to reach the3m to find out how to get from your house to where you want to go by public transportation and they will help you get through.
