An ideal environment for teaching social skills

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Summer camp is an often neglected and greatly under-rated resource for teaching social skills. There is no better place to learn and practice the skills required to make friends and maintain friendships than at camp, under the supervision of skilled and sensitive counselors. Kids learn to cooperate and share with their cabinmates. They learn to relate to their peers in a group and in a one-on-one situation. At Camp Kodiak we provide a safe and nurturing environment and a program designed to build confidence, develop self-esteem and improve social skills.
