Writing objectives: Special Ed.

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am a special education teacher in a self-contained lower primary special education classroom. I work with 1st and 2nd graders. Currently, I am trying to develope onjectives that relate to a student becoming awair of their environment. The student who I am writting these objectives for is non verbal and cognitively at the MR level. The parent is very interested in tracking his progress with his overall awareness. We also want to be able to assess if he is able to understand the consequences of his actions.

If you can give me some information on this topic I would greatly appreciate it!

I wont to thank you for being a special Ed. teacher. I went through classes like that my whole like until one special one gave me the chance to do better. I wrote a short (7 page) story about what it’s like to grow up with A.D.D. and L.D. while being in one of the classes. Because of the fact that I’m not a Dr. or a teacher noone will print it. But, the one thing she did tail me from a teacher’s point of view was to never give up.
