PASSWORD>aaGYdRONo/wYEHello!I am writing from the West Morris YMCA in Randolph, NJ.I am Director of a Special Needs Program that we run on Saturdays called Kaleidoscope. We teach swimming and sports fundamentals to children ranging in age from 5 - 18.The children receive one-on-one teaching/coaching from volunteers of all ages. We have several levels in swim class to cater to most children’s needs. The program has been in existence for over 14 years, but we do not advertise - we thrive through word-of-mouth. I am trying to create more awareness in an effort to get more children involved in the Program. We also have a Teen Program in which we take our Teens on trips anywhere from New York City to the circus! We try and teach independence and develop strong social skills. One of the next stops: Madame Tussaud’s Wax museum in NYC!!If you are interested in the Program or know of volunteers in our area, please contact Debbie Popek at the West Morris YMCA at:973-366-1120 ext 13Thank you for your time & consideration.Natasha Schiller, Director

Hi there! I live in New York City. I have an 8 year old son who could really benefit from such a program. Do you know of any in the city? Thanks!

I’m sorry I don’t. I tried to spread the Program to Central Jersey, but the YMCA was not interested. You might want to contact any Y’s in your area and ask for their “Special populations” Program. For the most part they do the swim program.Good luck!! :-)
