Empower Youth: A Day for Those Who Learn Differently

The San Diego Branch of the International Dyslexia Association will be hosting its first annual inspirational event for kids who learn differently and their parents. The symposium will feature motivational speakers who share some of the kids’ challenges, including dyslexia, ADHD and others, sending a powerful message of hope as they talk about their journeys with learning differences and overcoming obstacles to succeed.

Keynote Speakers:
Jonathan Mooney, author of The Short Bus and Learning Outside the Lines and Christian Moore with the “Why Try?” Program

When:
Saturday, October 6, 2012, 9 a.m. - Noon

Where:
David and Dorothea Garfield Theater, Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, 4126 Executive Drive, La Jolla, CA 92037

Who:
Children ages 10 to 18, with an adult

Tickets:

$35 per ticket, $25 for IDA members
