central auditory processing disorder

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I need some help? I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on programs for children with auditory processing disorder? I have twin daughters that we have just had tested and found out both have it. I had to fight the school to even have them tested for this. But now I need to know what to do next to keep them from progressing backwards this summer.
Also they are saying that there might be a little adhd also.

Try the parenting children with ld bulleting board, you might get more responses. My brother, sister, and son all have CAPD. I am in the learning process as well on what programs to use for them.

My son is going to start using Earobics this summer per the suggestions of a neuropsycologist. My brother has a pretty long list of accomodations that he gets in school through his IEP. There are other programs like Fast forword , it just depends on who you are talking to and how much help the child needs.

The audiologist also came up with a list of accomodation and modifications that worked well for him. I assume the school tested the children through and audiologist, if not I would start there.

Also, try reading LD in depth, they have some good articles. If you do a search for Ron Dumont on google.com you can find his website which has some accomodations list.

If I can think of anything else I will post it on the board
