chair cushions?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

looking for caps/cushions to put on the feet of chairs. Have students with hearing impariments, and need to quiet the noise of chairs sliding. Would rather not go with tennis balls, as the middle school students will have a field day playing. Any idea for resources?

How about felt? I would think it could be easily glued temporarily to the bottoms of the chair legs?

Or those furniture mover pads? I know they sell them at the hardware store or someplace like Walmart??

I use felt and it worked great! I used a hot glue gun to glue it to the bottom of the chair leg and then rubber-banded the top so it would’nt get ripped off. The students knew that they couldn’t take the rubber bands off and respected the rule. It helped my ADHD and LD students who were easily distracted by noise.

Homje Depot, Lowe’s. WalMart — all my furniture has glue-on felt pads (heavy duty so it lasts.) Try to get the right size, as oversized pads get knocked off faster. Glue gun would make these darned near permanent; self-stick is not bad for several months.
