An IEP is an individual education plan. When a student becomes eligible for special education services (determined from a psychological and achievement evaluation) they must have an IEP. The IEP describes the present level of performance and outlines goals and objectives that the student will attain with a mastery level such as 80%, how they will be evaluated and how progress will be reported. It also covers many other areas. For more information, you could check the U.S. Department of Education and yahoo egroups has an IEP group.
