2001 LDA/IL State Conferencxe “CHALLENGE OF CHANGE”

The Learning Disabilities Association of Illinois will holds it’s 2001
State Conference “Challenge of Change” at Indian Lakes Resort,
250 Schick Rd., Bloomingdale, IL., on Oct 19 & 20, 2001.

Topics include: Math Strategies; Dealing with Homework; Behavior
Management: Exhibit Hall and Bookstore, and the ever popular session
“I Have a Kid Who”. Total of 42 topic session plus five excellent
keynote speakers. Make your reservations now for the terrific event.

The Friday Closing Keynote “Learning Disabilities in the Context of
Communications Disorders” will be presented by Doris Johnson, Ph.D.,
Professor of Learning Disabilites, NorthWestern University. Listening,
speaking, reading, written language, math, and nonverbal behaviors
are all forms of communication. Emphasis will be given to communication
rather than school adhievement and skill development as a primary goal of
intervention.
