Moving to Chicago

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I just found out that my wife and I are moving to Chicago soon. We’ll be living near Wrigley Field (North side). I’m currently teaching LD/ED K-5. Can someone recommend a couple of good elementary schools to work at? Also, any other tips/info would be appreciated.

Hi! I grew up in Chicago and the NW burbs; lived there for 22 years or so. Anyhow, I think you’re really gonna like living in near Wrigley Field/Wrigleyville. As far as schools go, let’s see…..most of the schools in the NW burbs are nice: places like Northbrook, Glenview, Evanston, Skokie come to mind. Also, Lincolnshire is a good place to look from what I remember. As for the city, the “Gold Coast” might be a place to try. It has been almost 6 years since my wife and I have lived there though…..

I’ve got some more tidbits for ya, but I have to run an errand for the wife first (I’m sure you know about that….) :)

P.S. If I don’t get a chance to talk to you before you move, good luck!
