The GUIDED STAR Summer Enrichment Program in Overland Park, Kansas is designed to help children with academic challenges ages 6-8 and 9-10. We are offering a unique, developmentally-based combination of several approaches that have been found to be highly effective in addressing learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD.
The approaches include Brain Gym developed by Paul Dennison, PhD, CranioSacral Therapy developed by John Upledger, DO and Vision Training, an aspect of Behavioral Optometry. These services will be integrated into academics through small group tutoring (3-5 children) that will apply the principles of each approach. Developmental screenings will be performed by an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech and Language Pathologist, Social Worker and Behavioral Optometrist. Evening lectures on relevant topics are provided at no additional fee for parents.

Our day program is scheduled to begin June 13, 2002.
Brain Gym classes are offered for both children and adults and may be taken without enrolling in the Guided Star program.
We will hold a One-Day Seminar for Educators, Counselors and Therapists on Friday, August 2, 2002 to review the efficacy of our program and to help Child Educators find funding resources to bring these approaches into the school setting.
