I am trying to locate a tutor for my son this summer. We will be in Ocean City, NJ. but I will travel 45min. if need be. He has dyslexia and needs help in reading and writing skills.
Re: tutor needed; posted a long list, here's a short version
I posted a long list titled resource list; you can try the search option to see if you can find the whole thing. Here’s the short version:
International Dyslexia Association, some info online but mostly by phone, very backed up so keep trying.
ISER.com online, also have LD specialists.
College and university bulletin boards and employment centers.
Local newspaper classified ads
Online tutoring referrals:
TutorNation.com
TutorDepot.com
HireaTutor.com
Tutor (??? I forgot) .org (note not com — do a search)
Keen.com
Several others — use a search engine.
BUYER BEWARE — except for IDA and ISER, anyone can list themselves! It is up to you as the client to check on both knowledge and safety.
Re: tutor needed
Check with the local branch of the International Dyslexia Assocation. I provided my zip code and they phoned me with a list of providers in my zip code. They were all too busy to assist me. Then I called the IDA again and gave zip codes that were also near my home.
Don’t give up. I found a wonderful Christian tutor to come to my home.
aide needed
Looking for aide for my son who is going into 4th grade in the fall. We are in Oklahoma City, OK and while the school is supposed to be doing this I don’t have a lot of faith in their doing so especially by the time school starts. August 13 is the first day of school. Thanks for any info

I found a tutor through my sons school. The tutor was also one of the teachers at his school. I would call the school district that you will be in and I am sure that they will be able to conect you with someone.
