11 year old LD-ADHD boy

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I just wanted to share how proud I am of my son and all his efforts. He entered a special LD class of 8 (7 boys) this past school year. It was very difficult to leave his old school but htey could not really help him. He had to make new friends and he was the youngest in the class. There were lots of tears and difficulties but by the end of the year he seemed to have gained acceptance. He has done so well and worked so hard on his reading (he finally can read) that the school wants to intergrate him up to 50% into a regular class next year. Plus he is going to a regular daycamp this summer and I never said anything about his problems. They told me that he is one of the best behaved and one of their best campers! I am really proud of him.

It’s amazing what the right placement will do for a child. You are both amazing!
