My 4 year old son was recently admitted to the special needs pre school program in our town for speech and language therapy. His developmental doctor’s think he should also receive occupational therapy but the school doesn’t agree. What can I do?

My dd qualified for pre-school speech and language thru the school when she was 4 too. We saw no progress in the 2 years under their care. I wish I knew then what I know now - consider private therapy if you can afford it.
Does your insurance cover it? I would try privately if it does. MY son has had OT through the schools and it hasn’t been very beneficial—basically not intensive enough but he didn’t start getting it until K (he is now in second grade).
