4th Grade

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

With my son, it’s completely different. He is one of those kids that remembers everything the first time taught. When he was in 4th grade, we would quiz him the night before, one time only and he would know all the correct answers. By the time he was in 6th grade, he was not even bothering telling us he had a test the next day and never even studied - would get all A’s.

My biggest worry is that as my dd gets older, the material gets harder and I won’t be able to understand it enough to teach her again at home? I’m hoping that as she gets older, she will start to be able to do some of the ‘linking’ tricks on her own. What I’m noticing her biggest problems are word retrieval and vocabulary (and there is a connection between the 2). The names of ‘things’ will be there one minute and gone the next and back again 15min later.

4th Grade is going much better. She really likes her teacher and we have a good teacher this year. We’ve been lucky - we have had good teachers the last several years.
