Benign neglect of special education families

Unintentional discrimination is not mean spirited, but it still hurts. It happens all the time to our special education kids and families. Lots of learning disabled children have language disorders and it takes them longer to process their verbal responses. Unfortunately many “normal” children, especially as they grow older, really don’t want to hang with them anymore. They don’t have the patience to wait for a response.
