I just found out that there is a writing assessment as part of the STAR testing for both 4th and 7th graders in CA. This is important if this is an area of disability for your child. Additional accommodations may be needed for some students. The site below has two .pdf files of interest “Special Instructions for Testing Students Requiring Special Accommodations” and “Scoring Rubric for Grade 4 and 7 California Writing Standards Tests”. I only found out about this writing component today and the testing is next Tuesday. It is a little annoying that the school district didn’t inform parents of this new element of the testing.
