Famous people with LD

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am a 2nd grade teacher. Today, my class was commenting on how intelligent Walt Disney must have been. I mentioned that he was very creative and intelligent. I then told them that he had a hard time learning in school. I saw such a look of wonderment with one of my students who is struggling with written expression. I would like to find out more about his life. I have begun an internet search. My own child has some writing issues and I had read a list of famous people with LD. This type of info often put the child with learning problems in a different light. Often they feel relief when they hear about famous people with LD. Little uplifting thoughts make such a difference for the LD child. Any suggestions on sites would be great. Thanks!!!!!

I’ve seen a good children’s book w/1 page per person, detailing about that person’s life and accomplishments, childhood, etc. Try Amazon, etc.
