I am currently a student working towards my elementary degree and taking an ESE course. I need to interview a parent/guardian of a student with a disability for a paper I am writing. I’m having a very difficult time finding someone. I would GREATLY appreciate your input and would love to hear/read your story.

-Background Information of Family, Parent/Guardian
-Background Information of how Disability was discovered

Interview (PLEASE ANSWER WITH SEVERAL RESPONSES)
-What has been the greatest benefits/joys of having a child with ____.

-How does your child’s Disability affect his/her involvement and progress in general curriculum?

-What types of educator strategies were most helpful to you, the parent/guardian in helping your child?

-Describe the impact of having a child with a Disability upon the family.

-What are some of the greatest frustrations with your child’s education?

Extra Information
-At what age was the child when the classification was made?
-Were there any early childhood traits that indicated the need for classification?
-Does family history indicate anyone with the same classification as your child?
-How was it brought to your attention that your child may needed/may need to be classified?
-Do you feel that your child has endured positive changes since being classified?
What is the most important piece of advice that you would pass on to other parents and family members of a newly or soon to be classified child?

End:
Looking back, would you have done anything differently in relation to the child’s classification and schooling?

I AM SO THANKFUL FOR YOUR TIME!

Kindly,

May
