Lipreading research study on Children with dyslexia

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

This is in and around Chicago.

We are looking for reading-disabled children between 10 and 14 yrs old to participate in a lip-reading experiment. The experiment includes 90 minutes of standardized tests (cognitive processing, phonological awareness) and 60 minutes of lip-reading test (during which you will watch a head making mouth movements on the computer screen and make a match/nonmatch decision by pressing the mouse buttons). The extire experiment can be divided into 2 or 3 sessions (resulting in 2 or 3 trips) and can only be started after we obtain parental and participant consents. The expeirment will be carried out in the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab on Northwestern University Evanston Campus.

We will pay $30 dollars (plus $10 per trip) to the participant at the end of the experiment.
