These are the best regs concerning the application of
restraint in the nation, in terms of the safety of the
person who is to be restrained. They came about after two
cases of litigation over misapplied restraint, and now MA
is taking the situation very seriously to protect the
students from harm, to protect the staff for
litigation/prosecution, and to protect the state from
unnecessary proceedings against them for not taking action
to reduce the likelihood of injury/death.
